Soft and absorbent

I’m very impressed by the quality of this fitted diaper. The material is incredibly soft and impressively absorbent. For curiosity, I did a rough kitchen-science absorbency test and found these diapers to be far more absorbent than almost anything else in our stash. Both the cotton and the cotton/hemp fitteds absorbed about the same amount, with 10-11 oz in the main body of the diaper and about 4-5 oz in the snap-in insert after 5 prepping washes (absorbency might increase with additional washes). With that amount of water, the diaper was saturated, but not dripping. Based on my experiments, I have not found the hemp to be more absorbent. Additionally the hemp inserts shrink WAY more than the cotton only inserts (this is true of the hemp boosters too.) The all-cotton material is also softer, so I personally prefer the full cotton versions so far. We started using these when my little one was 4 months old and about 16.5 lb. We previously had used the esembly size 1 inners (an economical organic cotton fitted), which we loved. But he was outgrowing the size 1 of esembly and the size 2 were still too big. We decided to invest in some BabeeGreens fitteds to help while we were between sizes and are glad we did! They are so soft, absorbent, and fit great. Growing Greens are more expensive than esembly and GMD workhorses (the other fitteds we have tried), but they are also more accommodating in size for a growing baby, so I think they may actually be more economical in the long-run.
